Half-Blood Blues

Complete book for Key Porter Books.

From the smoky bars of pre-World War II Berlin to the salons of Paris, the narrator leads the reader through a fascinating, little-known world and into the heart of his own guilty conscience. The bestselling, award-winning Half-Blood Blues is a novel about jazz, race, love and loyalty, and the sacrifices we ask of ourselves—and demand of others—in the name of art.

This is the original cover design for Half-Blood Blues as it was created in cooperation with the author, and approved by the originating publisher, Key Porter Books. Unfortunately, Key Porter went out of business before they were able to release the book. Happily though, it was later released to great acclaim by Thomas Allen Books in Canada, and won the Scotiabank Giller Prize for 2011. When finally published, the book was given a new cover design, not the original seen here.
